Lose weight by sleeping properly
Recent studies relate gaining weight with an inadequate sleeping. People getting 5-6 hours of sleep as well as people getting 9-10 hours of sleep every night are gaining weight easier and more than people getting the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep.
Why do we bring up this subject? Because when you want to lose weight you don't have to count only calories but the sleep time as well.
Here is how inadequate sleep can influence your weight loss efforts.
Sleep has a saying in your overall metabolism and hormonal activity. Lack of sleep can increase hunger and disrupts your body's metabolism making it hard to
control your weight.
Sleep deprivation can cause cortisol, which is a hormone, to store body fat in excess. The carbohydrate metabolism is imbalanced causing high blood glucose level. More glucose means leads to insulin overproduction which can result in diabetes or obesity.
We can't ignore the fact that out sleeping habits has an influence on our behavior. The lack of sleep leads to craving for sweets or carbs, fat foods with no or little nutrient value. Even though the sugar provides energy if in excess need to be stored and ends up as body fat.
Once deposited in your body is difficult to get rid of them. If you are tired because you won't get enough sleep you will be too exhausted for your
weight loss exercises routine and you will skip it. Hence another reason for the fat to pile up.
Although some of us don't require less sleep (me included) most people need 7 to 8 hours every night in order to function properly. Experts agree that this is how much sleep we all have to get every night.
According with the National Sleep Foundation records 70% of all adults have no more than 6 hours and 30 minutes sleep every night. 52% of all adults get the sleep they need only in weekends while only 30% get 7 to 8 hours sleep every nightly.
Inconsistent sleeping patterns have been identified as one of the leading causes why people are
overweight. Behavior and lifestyle adjustment are only going to increase your chances to lose weight and will benefit your overall health.
